Wedding Update: Bride Stuff

Wedding stuff has basically been on the back burner lately because of school and finishing up tax season at my [tax] law job. But now I’m getting to work on some of the last few things that I need to do and most of them (surprise) involve the bride. And of course, since I’m very bad at making final decisions because I want everything to be “right” I have left all things involving myself to the last minute for fear of choosing the wrong stuff.
Lets start with flowers. Since our wedding is going to be on the beach in August, I was afraid of trying to deal with real flowers in the heat, using an out of town florist, etc. Plus, I liked the idea of being able to keep my flowers. So instead of doing real flowers I decided to get a real touch silk bouquet from Morgann Hill Designs. It ended up costing a bit more than my bridal bouquet would have from a florist, but I like that I will be able to put it in a vase somewhere and keep it.

I’m not a big DIY person but I couldn’t decide on jewelry and really liked some of the wire bangle wraps I’ve seen around. I wanted to pick my own beads so I decided to make those myself. I need to find one more type of bead I think for the stack but they’re cute so far!

And finally, I went dress shopping. I’ve waited so late, the bridal boutique asked when my wedding was and then they were like, oh August of 2016? No, August in a few months. Apparently bridal gowns take 16-22 weeks to get in. Luckily I ended up finding one I liked that I was able to get off the rack. I loved this style below (the bottom was to die for too) but it just didn’t seem like a good beach wedding dress. I’d be really sad when the detailed lace at the bottom got all dirty with sand. But it was fun to try them all on!

So now we’re officially under 100 days (yikes!) so I have a lot of work to do this summer. Luckily I’m done with finals next week and can finally have some guilt-free down time to get everything finished up.
